I’m W.E. Singh, the pen name of Warren Singh-Bartlett.

I’m a former journalist and non-fiction author who has lived all over Asia. I spent 20 years reporting from the Middle East, before making the questionable decision to start writing science fiction and fantasy instead.

(For the record: I regret nothing. Mostly.)

These days, I write mythology-infused, irreverent sci-fi fantasy — the kind with ancient gods, modern chaos, cosmic stakes, and the occasional character who really shouldn’t be trusted with access to an interdimensional portal.

What I write

My debut novel, A Djinnfernal Conspiracy, kicks off the Saga of the Seal Bearer: a darkly funny, fast-paced adventure where dying is the easy part. The series also includes the spin-off novella The Khartoum Caper. Book Two — A Djinn and Bear It Situation — lands in late April 2026, with the same cast, bigger trouble, and even more cosmic mess.

What’s next

I’m currently finishing the trilogy, with the goal of having the final book completed by August 2026.
